This is an estimate, not a quote. It assumes a boat in normal condition with water access at the dock. We confirm the final price after seeing your boat, before any work starts. Ceramic coating varies a lot with the product chosen: treat that estimate as a minimum.

What makes boat detailing cost more

  • Hull height. Two boats of the same length can be very different jobs. A high-sided express cruiser or a Pardo has far more hull surface than a low center console like a Boston Whaler, so it takes more time to wash and much more to polish.
  • Decks and square footage. A yacht with a flybridge or a second deck has more surface to clean and polish than its length suggests.
  • Condition. Heavy oxidation, mold on the seats, or stains that have set in need extra steps and products.

What makes it cost less

  • Regular washes. A boat washed every two weeks or every month never gets very dirty, so each visit takes less work. That's why our maintenance plans cost less per foot than a one-time wash.
  • A plan, not a one-off. Plan customers get a lower rate because we see the same boat on a schedule.

Why some detailers are cheaper, and some charge more

Cheaper quotes often come from crews without proper insurance, and there will always be someone cheaper. The work can also fall short. On a boat, saving a little is rarely worth it: one mistake on gelcoat, stainless or electronics can cost far more than the detail itself.

Higher prices usually reflect the team, its skills and experience, its insurance and its reputation. We are fully insured, with general liability coverage over $2 million, and many marinas ask for proof of insurance before letting a detailer on the dock.

What's not included in a classic wash

To avoid surprises, a classic wash does not include:

  • Cleaning inside storage compartments and lockers
  • Chrome and stainless polishing
  • Wax or any protective coating

These are part of deep cleaning, a one-step wax, polishing and ceramic coating, or can be added to a wash on request.

Why we like to see your boat first

Whenever possible, Loris meets you at your boat before the first job. It takes a few minutes and lets us give a firm price based on the real condition of the hull, the decks and the upholstery, instead of guessing from a length.

Is it worth it?

One-step wax or polishing?

A one-step wax is for gelcoat that is still in good shape: it cleans, adds shine and protects. If the gelcoat is chalky or dull from oxidation, one step is not enough and the result won't last; it needs a two-step polishing (compound, then polish) first. We tell you which one your boat needs when we see it.

Ceramic coating

Ceramic coating is worth it on a new or nearly new boat: it protects the gelcoat from day one and makes every future wash faster. On a boat whose gelcoat is already worn or heavily oxidized, it is usually not worth it: the time and cost needed to bring the gelcoat back to its original state before coating are high. In that case, a polish and regular maintenance is the better investment.

Maintenance plans

For a boat that lives in the water in Miami, salt, sun and humidity work on it every day. A wash every two weeks or every month costs less per visit than occasional deep cleans and keeps the boat ready for every trip.

Payment

We accept credit cards, cash and Zelle. Payment in several installments is possible for larger jobs, and maintenance plans come with a discounted rate.

Why do two boats of the same length get different prices?

Hull height, number of decks and condition change the amount of work. A high-sided cruiser or a flybridge yacht has much more surface than a center console of the same length.

Is a maintenance plan cheaper than a one-time wash?

Yes. Bi-weekly plans are about $4 per foot per visit and monthly plans about $4.50, versus $5 for a one-time wash, because a regularly washed boat takes less work.

What is not included in a basic boat wash?

Inside of storage compartments, chrome and stainless polishing, and wax. Those are covered by deep cleaning, waxing, polishing or coating.
